ImageMiller Commercial have been instructed to market an iconic building at Penzance.  Acting on behalf of Mango Homes, who are currently refurbishing the former Abbey Warehouse to create new office accommodation, the Truro based firm of Chartered Surveyors have now been appointed to market an adjoining modern development.

The site, which is situated on the quayside adjoining Abbey Basin offers views across to Penzance Harbour and St Michael’s Mount beyond. It benefits from planning permission for the construction of a contemporary 3-storey building, designed by local architect Barrie Briscoe, which resembles a sail.  The building, which will include a substantial amount of glass and a balcony overlooking the water, presently has planning consent for use as a restaurant.

‘Offers are being sought for a pre-let of the restaurant’ reports Mike Nightingale, Partner at Miller Commercial.

The premises will have a combined floor area of 405sq.m (4,359sq.ft) and are being offered at an asking rental of £15 per sq.ft. ITZA, on a new lease on FRI terms.

Mike continues, ‘There has been substantial interest in the adjoining 3-storey warehouse for offices and it is considered that there is potential for an office occupier to take a lease of these premises also, subject of course, to securing planning consent for change of use’.
