Miller Commercial, the Truro based firm of chartered surveyors, report the recent completion of letting of the former Truro Galleries premises at 21 St Mary’s Street, Truro.

The lock-up shop unit enjoyed a prominent location adjacent to the intersection of Duke St and Quay St, and benefitted from good window frontage. It offered a total internal area of 17.7sq.m. [190sq.ft.]

The unit was made available by way of a new, full repairing and insuring lease, for a 6 year term, at an asking rental of £7,500 per annum. An in-going premium of £10,000 was sought.

The premises had been owned by Truro Galleries for some 15 years, and are now shortly to be occupied by jewellery designer, Avalon Designs, who is based at Looe. This letting represents the opening of the business’s second retail outlet within the county.

Jon Ball, commercial surveyor at Miller Commercial comments, ‘These premises occupy an ideal secondary location and have contributed to the success over the last 15 years of the previous occupier.  Avalon Designs were eager to jump at the chance to take up such a good trading position within the city, as they look to expand their presence in Cornwall’.
