The detached, licensed hotel stands prominently on of the major harbour resort’s main traffic thoroughfares. It enjoys an elevated position well above the town’s retail centre and provides panoramic views towards Towan Headland, the harbour and across Newquay Bay. The Deauville offers 26 letting bedrooms all of which are en-suite, together with a reception hall, dining room for 52 covers and a bar lounge/entertainment area. Outside, the hotel has parking for a large coach and 10 vehicles. The hospitality business has traded in Newquay for many decades and over recent years it has attracted considerable coaching trade, which forms a high percentage of annual turnover. Recent trading accounts demonstrate sales in excess of £160,000 with a gross profit of £131,000. Russell Weetch, Head of Hotels, Licensed & Leisure at Miller Commercial comments, ‘The Deauville enjoys much goodwill with coach companies around the UK and should continue to trade well especially as present currency exchange rates have forced up the cost of overseas holidays’.
