The Mote Restaurant, Port Isaac
Written by Russell Weetch Wednesday, 15 March 2006 10:09
The recently refurbished licensed restaurant stands at the back of the harbour adjacent to The Platt and the slipway. It is contained within a Grade 11 listed building and offers covers for up to 50 diners on the ground and first floors. As expected with a period property, many old features are retained including slate flagstone floors and massive beamed ceilings. There is a separate self contained owner/manager’s apartment.
The Mote Restaurant has been acquired by private purchasers, who look forward to the challenge of running a fine restaurant in a most attractive part of Cornwall.
The licensed restaurant was sold off a guide price of £525,000 for the freehold interest.
Russell Weetch, Head of Business Transfer at Miller Commercial comments,
‘Licensed restaurants in Cornwall, especially those in coastal settlement situations have an enduring appeal, and this is currently reflected in the market in Cornwall’.
