The Green Bean in Market Jew Street Penzance is an independent coffee house with its own blend of coffee. The business, which has just come onto the market, is an example of a new growing trend in independent coffee houses.

Our Head of Business Transfer Department, Graham Timmins, says "We are seeing the emergence of several small artisan coffee shops in Cornwall. It's part of what's being hailed as the 'Third Wave' in coffee retail which started in London. People are turning away from the 'big 3' coffee chains and going to smaller, specialist coffee shops to get a better brew".

Owners, Justin and Pheona Lowell, had the idea to set up the business 5 years ago when they moved to West Cornwall. Justin says "We couldn't find anywhere to have a decent coffee which alerted us to the fact that there was a gap in the market. Green Bean is our own blend of coffee and cannot be bought anywhere else. Our coffee beans are supplied freshly roasted from a company in Bristol who are seventh generation coffee importers and together we understand the industry and what people expect from a good blend. We have an established client base because customers know when they come here, they'll get a proper cup of coffee and a more personal service".

The Green Bean Coffee Company is on the market at a leasehold guide price of £34,950.
