Acting on behalf of private clients, we have recently seen the completion of the freehold disposal of Unit 2. Cardrew Way, Cardrew Industrial Estate, Redruth. The modern industrial premises, which were constructed in 2007, offered a gross internal area of 10,922 sq ft and included an office content of approximately 15%.
The property was marketed off a freehold guide price of £800,000. Jon Ball of our Commercial Agency Department advises, “This opportunity was taken up by local company, D M Orthotics, who saw the property as the perfect opportunity to expand their operations in Cornwall”.
Eric Bosence, Finance Director of D M Orthotics also comments “We are pleased to acquire these new premises, which allows the company to keep our operational base in Cornwall and utilise local people both in the workforce and factory refit. Our company continues to show growth as it steadily expands into international markets”.
D M Orthotics Ltd is a business that is innovative in the design and manufacture of lycra products for cerebral palsy patients.

We have now been instructed to offer the adjacent double premises at No.8 and No.8A High Cross Street in the centre of St Austell, at lower asking rents to stimulate occupier interest at a reduced rental. The units, which formerly traded as a butcher's shop and a financial services office, are currently split into two premises, but with the Consent of the landlord, they could become one integral unit. Unit 8 provides a net internal area of 35.7 sq m (384 sq ft), whilst 8A provides a larger area of 46.3 sq m (499 sq ft) with both units providing a small sink area and wc facilities.
