Boscastle Newsagents changes hands
Written by Theresa Tyack Wednesday, 10 February 2010 10:20
We have recently completed the sale of the long established and successful retail business trading as Boscastle Newsagents, which is located in the much sought after harbour village of Boscastle, between Port Isaac and Bude. The ground floor sales areas extended to circa 1,000 sq ft, whilst the 1st floor provided a self-contained apartment with lounge, kitchen, 3 bedrooms, bathroom/wc and glazed entrance porch.
The business was able to demonstrate good sales turnover from serving the local community and the thousands of tourists who regularly visit the photogenic village and beautiful harbour. The newsagents' premises benefit from its elevated position above the adjacent main car park and clear of any flooding risk.
Offers were sought off a guide price of £399,950, with the business being acquired by local purchasers, Iain Lewis and Rebecca Harrison from nearby Tintagel.
Richard Gilbert in our Business Transfer Department comments, "Boscastle Newsagents provided a lucrative income and residential opportunity with its sale underlining the growing strength of the business market in Cornwall after what has been a slow period".
