Former Bodenes Restaurant in Falmouth changes hands
Written by Theresa Tyack Friday, 19 March 2010 14:23
We have recently concluded the sale of the former Bodenes Restaurant at 36 Arwenack St in the centre of Falmouth. The new owners are David Trewin and Emily Rose. David has had considerable experience in the restaurant industry, having in the past held the position of head chef at two well known restaurants. The modern, attractive premises offered 40 covers at ground floor level, together with a lower ground floor providing a lounge and cocktail area.
The restaurant was made available by way of assignment of the existing 20 year lease commencing June 2004. The business was being marketed off a leasehold guide price of £80,000. The sale price was not disclosed.
Richard Gilbert of our Hotel, Licensed & Leisure Department advises, "The business is now trading under the new name of Samphire and during the short period the new owners have been in occupation, it has enjoyed a good level of new trade from primarily local clientele. David and Emily are providing modern menus for both lunchtime and evening trade. They are both very much looking forward to the 2010 season which, by all accounts, is going to be a summer with the emphasis of holidays in the UK, as confirmed by the excellent level of advance bookings" being reported.
