Proposed Interior View'Amethyst' which is due to open on Friday December 16th, is located at 1-2 New Bridge Street, formerly the Il Gatto Nero Italian Restaurant.
The owners of the new business, who also run Wreckers Bistro/Wine Bar at Charlestown, say the menu will be similar and have a seafood slant.
A new Lease was arranged in an off-market deal within a month of the Il Gatto Nero closing.
Proposed Interior ViewCo-owner of Amethyst, Melanie Evans says that she has been looking for suitable premises in Truro for more than 5 years now. She continues "We found that landlords were loath to lease to independent businesses, preferring to have national franchises as tenants to guarantee safe rents. We're delighted that the Vage family, who own the building, have leased to us. It's the perfect location surrounded by other eateries, wine bars and clubs."
