New Expresso Coffee House

The owners of a new espresso coffee house opening in Truro on Friday 3rd February are bringing a taste of the "Capital" to Cornwall. Blend 71, is opening next to the Truro Plaza in Lemon Street, which used to house a sandwich take-away shop.
The owners, Simon and Victoria Radcliffe, who also own the Old Grammar School bar/restaurant in Truro, are modelling their café on the likes of 'Kaffiene' and 'Milk Bar', part of a metropolitan trend of small artisan style coffee shops popular in Australia and which are now popping up in London's Soho and the City.
Simon says "Despite the prevalence of coffee shops in Truro I strongly feel there is a gap in the market for an expert cup of coffee (which we are going to buy direct from 'Monmouth Coffee' in London), together with a proper sandwich from a less corporate retailer. We will also be selling hot pie and mash .... with gravy!"
Blend 71's lease was negotiated by Rob Redgrave who comments, "this location is a gold-mine. It has traded as a lunchtime takeaway venue for many years servicing Lemon Street and the surrounding vicinity. As with the supermarkets, the public are slowly beginning to realise that there is value in the 'boutique' service rather than the corporate approach".

The Railway Tavern at Camborne has a revised guide price
Due to a price reduction, we are now marketing the Railway Tavern on Trevu Rd, Camborne, off a freehold guide price of £375,000 plus stock at valuation. The substantial public house is located within one of Cornwall’s major town’s in the west of the county with a strong mining heritage. As the name implies, the natural stone built property stands close by the town’s railway’s station. The ground floor comprises an extensive main bar area and adjoining lounge bar, adjacent to which is an equipped commercial kitchen, office and cellar. A feature of the property is the attractive trade garden and rear car park whilst at first floor level there is spacious 3-bedroom owners’ accommodation.
