 It's a case of "trading places" for a number of estate agents in Truro who are changing their City bases. A combination of factors, including a Company merger and prime retail space becoming vacant, has prompted the reshuffle of three property companies who operate under the "Miller Countrywide" umbrella.

Miller Countrywide, who currently operate out of Kenwyn Street, will soon be moving across town into 10-11 Lemon Street, formerly Viyella. Managing Director for Miller Countrywide, Tony Wainwright, says "when the chance came to move into an address looking straight up Lemon Street we were quick to seize the opportunity and look forward to continuing to provide our clients with the best service in the City".

Meanwhile, Waterside & Country Homes, who are also part of the same property company group, are moving their business from the ground floor of Mansion House on Princes Street to the 1st floor of the building occupied by their sister company, Stratton Creber at 12 Lemon Street.

This series of complex deals, which included surrenders of leasehold interests to both the Bank of Ireland and the Austin Reed Group, were negotiated by Rob Redgrave who is Head of our Commercial Department. Rob says "despite the advent of the internet era and the decline of the High Street, it is comforting to know that those in the residential property industry still value a prominent trading pitch and will go to great lengths to achieve this. The restructuring and consolidation will only strengthen the Countrywide brand whilst freeing up two good quality units in the process. Whilst Miller Commercial are completely independent of the Countrywide group and deal exclusively in commercial premises, this is a positive sign for the industry as a whole".

The moves, which will all have been completed by the end of this month, will leave two prime city centre sites vacant. The first includes the ground and lower ground offices suites within the former Georgian residence, Mansion House. And the second is almost 2,000 sq ft of retail space at 114 Kenwyn Street.
