This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Hospitality Professional to acquire the Food and Beverage franchise at the prestigious West Cornwall Golf Club, close to the Cosmopolitan resort of St Ives, with the nearby Carbis Bay Estate hosting the G7 Summit in June of this year . The Franchisee will be expected to offer a full range of Food & Drink to members and non members alike with the clubhouse boasting a large Commercial kitchen, a spacious dining/function room with separate bar and ample parking. Owing to its picturesque coastal location and proximity to St Ives, the venue is also highly suitable for hosting functions such as weddings.

The Opportunity

West Cornwall Golf Club are seeking to appoint a suitably qualified Franchisee to take on the Food and Beverage operations as part of their ongoing programme of development. The Club is open to members and non-members alike and affords tremendous scope for hosting functions owing to its large car park, spacious dining room / bar area and dramatic coastal location. Owing to the scale of the operation applications will only be considered from experienced Hospitality professionals.

Franchisee Responsibilities

The Franchisee will be responsible for all of the day to day Bar & Catering operations at the Club as would be expected, to include but not limited to;-

1.Full Bar Service during agreed core bar opening hours.
2.Meals for Club members and non members at lunch times, some evenings and at weekends.
3.Meals for visiting societies and team matches.

4.Meals for clubhouse users on special occasions such as Club events, competitions, Annual Dinners and themed entertainment evenings.
5.Catering for private functions booked by a member or non-member in coordination with the requirements of the Club.
6.Closing up and security of the clubhouse at the end of each working day. The clubhouse is currently open every day except Christmas Day.
7.Ensuring Compliance with all appropriate regulations pertaining to a business of this nature.

Agents Note 1

The Franchisee will be self-employed and subject to certain reasonable constraints, and in liaison with the Club Secretary and Directors be free to conduct their business accordingly. They will be responsible for their own public Liability insurance and any employees must be employed by the Franchisee. They will be free to liaise with suppliers direct and to make such arrangements as they see fit in this regard including the choice of supplier for the Bar, they will not however be permitted to enter into any agreements that would see the Club “tied” such as Brewery Loans etc.

The Franchisee will be expected to produce a food menu with indicative prices in addition to a Bar price list for approval prior to the agreement being signed. The Franchisee, in conjunction with the Directors will seek to implement a loyalty scheme or discount for Club Members. In return the Club will actively promote the Franchisees business through it’s own website and via social media.

Agents Note 2

Whilst there is currently no accommodation available on site, it is anticipated that club will be in a position during the Summer of 2021 be able to offer the Franchisee first refusal on the Flat attached to the Clubhouse. This will be subject to negotiation and will be available by way of an assured short hold tenancy.

An Inventory of all loose chattels and equipment, will be supplied by Miller Commercial prior to the completion of the Franchise agreement. All such goods and chattels will remain the property of West Cornwall Golf Club Ltd, the Franchisee will be required to repair/replace any items during their tenure.

Premises Licence

We understand that West Cornwall Golf Club Ltd currently hold a premises licence in respect the sale of liquor for consumption on and off the premises. The Franchisee will be appointed as the Designated Premises Supervisor for the term of the agreement.

Business Rates & Utilities

The Franchise Fee is inclusive of Business Rates, the Franchisee will be responsible for their own utilities.


This exciting franchise opportunity is available by way of an initial 12 month agreement at a commencing fee of £26,000 per annum inclusive of Business rates, payable monthly in advance. It is hoped that at the end of the initial term a longer agreement can be discussed and agreed between both parties. The Franchisee will also be required to lodge a Security Deposit of £5,000 with the Clubs Solicitor.
