The Development team assists with both disposals and acquisitions of sites or opportunities ranging from single sites with/without planning consents to larger sites and site assembly.

From inception to completion the team will provide bespoke advice to facilitate the delivery of development projects across all market sectors.

Working to agreed timescales they will carry out development strategies reviewing your property holding plan today for tomorrow’s gains.

Our core activities include:

  • Land analysis and appraisal
  • Land sales and acquisitions whether unconditional on planning, subject to planning, or with some form of planning consent
  • Mixed-use land opportunities, including residential, retail, industrial, and office.

  • Brian Botting Partner

    Brian is a Partner and a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors as well as a member of the Institute of Revenues, Rating and Valuation. He joined Miller Commercial in April 2003 but entered the profession in 1973, and over the intervening years he has cultivated an enormous amount of experience gained in London, Nottingham, Devon and Cornwall. He specialises in the assembly, acquisition and disposal of development sites, in addition to undertaking valuation, rent review and lease renewal work. He is a Director of our subsidiary company Listers Commercial Property Consultants. Brian is responsible for the graduate training programme for the company and has helped more than a dozen graduates achieve Chartered status in the last 15 years.

  • Thomas Hewitt Consultant

    Thomas has over twenty years of experience in the local property market under his belt, advising clients in both the residential and commercial sectors. Development sites are his passion, and he specialises in providing holistic advice to his clients throughout the southwest to ensure the most suitable method of disposal is implemented to achieve the maximum value. His experience covers a broad spectrum of development opportunities from selling development plots in prime coastal locations to much needed rural exception sites for affordable housing, as well as selling development opportunities in numerous town centre locations for redevelopment or repurposing. Having acted for his family to sell land via option agreements and capturing planning gains for land to sell on the open market, he knows the job from both sides of the fence. Thomas is able to empathise with vendors during what can be a challenging process. However, his intricate knowledge and technical experience of the planning process allows him to guide his clients and customers through all stages of the sale or development process. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his family and friends and can often be found enjoying the coast line, cold water swimming or cycling the many back roads of rural Cornwall.
