Careers and Opportunities

Miller Commercial recognises that its success has depended – and will continue to depend – on the quality of the people it recruits. The ability to work well in a team and perform to the highest professional standard at all times is essential for every position in the business.

We are always pleased to receive approaches from talented people.   For current vacancies, work experience or for a graduate placement, please contact June Shields, Practice Manager, on 01872 247003 / email js@miller-commercial.co.uk.

We are a very sociable company with regular drinks after work on a Friday, curry nights, bowling, wine tasting and beach barbecues.  It is a fun and dynamic environment to work in full of passionate and dedicated staff.  The video (courtesy of South West Sky visions) above is of our staff out on ‘Spirit of Falmouth’ which is Turn To Starboard’s flagship 91-foot wooden gaff rigged tall ship, used for sail training for Armed Forces who have been affected by military operations.  We are proud sponsors of Truro Rugby Club and every year we gather there with colleagues, clients and other professional firms to enjoy a game with a few beers!

Why Choose Miller Commercial

Miller Commercial is a dynamic forward thinking company of Specialist Business Property Consultants which is constantly evolving and developing. The Company has grown fourfold over the last 25 years and is always striving to improve the levels of service and professionalism that is provided to its clients.

This growth has been achieved through investing in high quality, professionally qualified experts supported by an active graduate recruitment programme. Structured training and assisted lifelong learning has enabled our team to develop as people and offer high levels of expertise and service to our clients.

There are many team events throughout the year which enable the company to retain its historic family feel and help new people to integrate within the company.  We are a very sociable company with regular drinks after work on a Friday, curry nights, bowling, wine tasting and beach barbecues.  Staff have recently enjoyed a sports massage here at the office and as well as the traditional CPD subjects we also had a photography workshop.  It is a fun and dynamic environment to work in full of passionate and dedicated staff.

Many of the existing team members have relocated from elsewhere in the UK and enjoy the benefits of living in one of Country’s iconic locations. In between their working hours they are often spotted riding a wave on the north Cornish coast, enjoying the sailing waters of Carrick Roads or Helford River, walking or riding on the rugged paths of Bodmin Moor or the stunning Cornish Coastal path. Occasionally they can be found enjoying fine food in idyllic locations or even enjoying some of the quality, locally produced ale.

Come and talk to us to see how we can redress your work life balance, not just for a week or two each year, but all year around!

Graduates

Miller Commercial are committed to contributing to the training of graduate surveyors who leave University with preferably a RICS recognised degree (but even with a non-cognate degree for those dedicated to a career in commercial property) and wishing to complete the requirements of the RICS and qualify as a Chartered Surveyor.

Miller Commercial have achieved Approved Employers status from the RICS following approval of the firm’s Structured Training Agreement.

This means that we advise potential candidates which competencies we can help them to develop and how. Each candidate enters into their own Structured Training Programme which sets out what they can expect from us, what we expect from them and when. It also confirms that we have the will, the means and the intention of getting people qualified in accordance with the RICS Guides.

Furthermore, Brian Botting, one of the firm’s Partners, was an APC Assessor for over 25 years and thus is uniquely positioned to provide invaluable advice to a candidate.  View our video of Brian talking to Jonny Bright about his journey with Miller Commercial from non cognate graduate to Chartered Surveyor https://youtu.be/eWDCTawNVm0
